Federation Multi-Site Role (Central Services)

Start Date: Ideally September 2025, flexible for right candidate 

Mossbourne Federation is the realisation of Sir Clive Bourne’s dream to provide the children of Hackney with an outstanding education. In 2025, our 20th anniversary year, we are delighted to have expanded to include three Thurrock schools in our Federation. We now consist of seven academies: 

Mossbourne Community Academy (MCA) secondary and sixth form, Hackney 

Mossbourne Fobbing Academy (MFA) secondary and sixth form, Thurrock 

Mossbourne Herd Lane Academy (MHLA) primary, Thurrock 

Mossbourne Parkside Academy (MPA) primary, Hackney 

Mossbourne Port Side Academy (MPSA) secondary, Thurrock 

Mossbourne Riverside Academy (MRA) primary, Hackney 

Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy (MVPA) secondary, Hackney 

The Governing Board plays a vital role in the leadership and oversight of the school, with three key responsibilities: setting the strategic direction, holding the principals to account for educational performance, and overseeing the financial effectiveness of the school to ensure resources are well spent.    

Each member of the Governing Board shares collective responsibility for ensuring the school operates effectively, efficiently, and in line with good governance, as outlined in the constitution agreed by its members. Governors contribute their unique perspectives, shaped by their individual expertise and experience, to support sound decision-making. Their role is to ensure that the interests of all stakeholders and the wider community remain central to all discussions and decisions, that both the Governing Board and school leadership act in the best interests of the pupils at all times, and that the school provides the highest quality education and outcomes within its available budget. Maintaining strong governance, in line with the Governance Handbook and any future updates, is a fundamental aspect of this role.
